Chef Al’s bakery experience started many years ago when he got a job working his way through college at the renowned Long’s Bakery in Indianapolis, IN. After he received his bachelor’sdegree in Commercial Art from Heron Art School (IndianaUniversity, Purdue University at Indianapolis), Chef Al moved toHouston, Texas and began working at Randall’s Grocery as CakeDecorator. He quickly worked his way to Bakery Manger and held that position for almost two decades. After discovering his true talent was designing beautiful cakes and pastries, Chef Al enrolled in Culinary School and became a Certified Pastry Chef. He then secured a management position with Sodexo, where he worked for 5 years. While at Sodexo, Chef Al began receiving request for cakes and pastries from customers outside of his employer, which prompted him to create MasterfulCake Decorations. Business was so lucrative that he made thedecision to dedicate his time solely to his customers at MasterfulCake Decorations. Masterful Cake specializes in making the perfect cakes and desserts for every occasion. It’s often difficult to find a cake that is both great tasting and beautifully designed; however, with Masterful Cake Decorations, you get both a beautiful and great tasting cake. When it comes to creating a “Dream come to life experience” Masterful Cake Decorations always takes the cake.
Masterful Cake Decorations is a Houston based business that has been operating since 2008. Specializing in an assortment of desserts, ranging from Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Baby shower cakes, cupcakes to pastries and seasonal pies. Throughout this 12-year journey I have had thepleasure of celebrating amazing events with wonderful people. Creating cakes for members of the Houston Rockets family, the Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, Nicole Murphy, Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner, and Gallery Furniture in Houston; as well as a countless wedding, birthdays,retirement parties and holiday celebrations and more.
